Senior prefects walk in the footsteps of Edmund Rice

We are proud that our college community was originally founded by the Christian Brothers in 1932, following on from the inspirational teachings and leadership of Blessed Edmund Rice. Every year, the senior prefect team, members of staff and two Christian Brothers develop a deeper sense of who Edmund was and the legacy that he has left behind.

On the weekend of 14 October, the team left Stoke and travelled to Callan and Waterford. These places are synonymous with Edmund and his life story. We followed his path from his home in Callan to the founding of his first school at Mt. Sion, Waterford. Throughout the weekend, the team grew in their appreciation of the challenges that Edmund faced and how he managed to overcome them and develop the Christian Brothers charism that is evident across our school community. We had ample opportunity to immerse ourselves in the work and the Christian Brothers and how they are continually developing the mission of Edmund across the world.
