Welcome! Welcome to our exciting, energetic and compassionate school.
It is my utter privilege to be the headteacher of St Joseph’s College, and to welcome you to our school, steeped in faith and the belief that we should ‘act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with God.’
St Joseph’s College is a Catholic school wrapped in rich history and traditions and proudly part of the global family of the Christian Brothers’ network, inspired by the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice. We are fierce champions for social advocacy, embracing our diversity and challenging ourselves to be the very best we can be – whether this be inside or outside of the classroom.
Education is such an important part of a young person’s formative experiences: it shapes the head, the hand and the heart. Consequently, we do not under estimate the significance of the choice parents must make when deciding on a school for their children. As such, we place high importance on the relationship we have with parents: ‘we can only build the future by standing together, including everyone.’ I am incredibly proud of our caring school where everyone is respected, valued and nurtured.
Our curriculum is varied and ambitious, embracing the arts, sport and creativity. There is truly something for everyone at St Joseph’s College with daily opportunities to enjoy, experiment and shine. It is this embracing of all we are and all we want to be that creates our sense of community. Staff are dedicated and highly invested in the potential of our students, facilitating a platform for challenge and curiosity.
Therefore, it is our young people who are the very best advocates for all St Joseph’s College is. They embody the gospel values of justice, love, peace and reconciliation in their interactions with staff and with each other – they ensure our motto, Fideliter et Fortitier, is far more than just words on a page.
I look forward to working with you and your family in this exciting adventure!
